Usually, I blog about the internet, web sites, technology and products that I review, but once in a while, I need to toot my own horn a little and talk about some cool stuff that’s been going on in the world of Joe Tech lately.
Postie of the Month
First, something I’m pretty proud of. When I started blogging, I was pretty relaxed about it. Blogging is supposed to be fun and relaxing, but I didn’t realize at the time that I should still put a lot of energy into my posts. I know that these days, and the past year plus has been devoted to working harder on this blog and really trying to earn all you wonderful readers. It seems that I’m doing something right, because IZEA, the company behind PayPerPost, SocialSpark, and the upcoming SponsoredTweets, announced last week that I was their May Postie of the Month. I was thrilled to hear about it and couldn’t wait to announce it here with some photos:

After a few years of blogging and some recent hard work and devotion, I’ve got something to put on the shelf and show off. Included in the package was a bunch of stickers, an IZEA mouse pad (which now has a home on my desk at my office) some mints, and a new green IZEA shirt. That’s my second IZEA package! Thanks, IZEA!
JoeTech.com’s Blogging This
As you can see above, I have a black “I’m Blogging This” shirt and I also have a white one I picked up from MarketLeverage a while back, and shirts from Shoemoney, Ian Fernando, and Zac Johnson. The best treat, however, was the custom shirt that Market Leverage sent me that reads “JoeTech.com’s Blogging This” across the front. I don’t have a picture of it today because I wear it often and it’s buried somewhere in my laundry basket, but trust me, it’s cool. Although I’m still just dipping my toe in affiliate/search marketing, Market Leverage has been there to answer questions, tell me about new, daily campaigns, and they are my favorite so far because they make it very clear how much they appreciate their affiliates.
Murray Newlands Contest and Fame
Last week, I was also asked to judge a blog contest at MurrayNewlands.com. I agreed and soon after, Murray launched the contest. It was then that I saw that I was in the company of fellow judges, Heather Smith AKA HeatherinBC who seems to have her thumb firmly planted on the pulse of the social media world, Ted Murphy, the social marketing savvy founder of IZEA and other ventures, and Steve Hall, who runs the AdRants and Ad:Tech blogs. As if I needed more flattery, I was mentioned just this morning in a post by Murray titled “Semi Famous People on Twitter“.
As you can see, it’s been a great couple weeks for me. June should only get better as Michelle has some super secret all-day plans for my birthday next Sunday. I can’t wait.
