By now, my regular readers know all about my love for my dedicated server host, Codero. I really never have any problems at all and my uptime is always 99.99%+ This month, they’ve given me more reason to love them. Leapfish Gave Me A Laptop

Back in April, I stumbled across a post on Dragonblogger.com about a contest on Leapfish.com. Te contest is the Leapfish $100k Cash Dash. That’s $100k as in on hundred thousand dollars. I was immediately interested, but wondered if I’d have a chance at any of the prizes.

I Won A Laptop (And An iPad)

Pictured above is what came in the mail for me last week. Inside the box was this Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop.

It’s loaded with 3 GB of RAM, Pentium 2.2 GHz Dual Core CPU, 250 GB hard drive and Windows 7 Home Premium. Best of all, it was free as a prize from Leapfish and the Cash Dash contest. As I mentioned, I wasn’t sure I’d even be able to get a prize with a contest like this, but I did everything I could to earn points and kept earning until I reached the 4,000 points required to win one of the three laptops they offered up as prizes. When I was done, I kept the momentum going until I had the 10,000 points required to win one of three Apple iPads. That’s right. I won a laptop and an iPad. I couldn’t believe it, either. At 11,270 points, I stopped shooting for points because I’m happy with what I’ve won already, but it wasn’t long before the larger non-cash prizes were snatched up.

Still More To Win

The prizes that have already been won are great, but the bigger prizes are still out there. Leapfish is a new search engine with a social twist and some real-time search features that not only outshines other search engines in some ways, but it also combines results from Yahoo!, Bing!, and Google. They set up the contest to get the word out. The goal of the contest if to get 1,000,000 people to set LeapFish as their homepage. To do this, they’re giving out cash prizes when they hit specific milestones. For example, when 25,000 people have set Leapfish.com as their homepage, the site will give one winner $1,000 cash. At the 50,000 mark, they’re giving out $2,500 and so on, all the way up to a $50,000 cash prize for one winner at the 1,000,000 mark. They’re just over 500 so far, so there’s a long way to go, but if you join up and spread the word, you’ll get points (entries in the contest) and help get Leapfish closer to a cash prize milestone.

I’m writing this post on the laptop I won, my iPad should be on its way to me soon, and I still have a shot at some of the cash. Sign up and maybe you’ll win some, too.

Leapfish $100k Cash Dash And JoeTech Giveaway

Today, on DragonBlogger.com, I came across a contest held by a search site I’ve seen promoting a lot lately. The site is Leapfish and the contest is the Leapfish $100k Cash Dash (before you enter, read below about what I’m giving away). I hadn’t really checked out the site before, and I must admit, the contest got me to look. Here’s what I found:

Search with Leapfish

Searching with Leapfish is pretty cool. It has the most popular from many segments of the web on the homepage, like video, Digg items, deals, and various types of news. When you search, you get results in video, images, news, deals, etc and then you also get standard results from Google, Yahoo, and Bing. It’s like an all-in-one search and I’m really liking it. In fact, I even added it on my sidebar over on the right. Try it out by typing something in the little search box and clicking the button.

Leapfish has a pretty cool contest, and I want to win, but I need your help. To enter, you earn points and those points are like raffle tickets. The more you earn, the better your odds, but those who earn fastest get the cool prizes. The It’s A BluWorld Contest And The Awesome Prizes You Can Win

Today, I found out about the Its a BluWorld contest being held by the people who make the BluFrog energy drink. Most people know I love contests, but I also don’t like a contest that is too hard to enter and this one is incredibly easy. You can enter with a blog post or a simple tweet or even just comment on their contest page. First, though, I want to mention the prizes, because they are really unique and just plain cool.

The prize I want to win is the Happy Blu-Year trip to spend New Year’s Eve in Times Square. They’ll fly the winner and a friend out, put ~~you~~ me up in a hotel for three nights, cover the ground transportation to and from the airport, and throw in a helicopter ride for two over New York City and an X-Shot. I’ve never watched the ball drop in person from Times Square, so it would be the experience of a lifetime for me. Of course, if I win, the first thing I’ll do is call Michelle and let her know. Then there would be a blog post about it and I’d tweet my excitement to the world, followed by me running around the office telling everyone. I’m excited already, just thinking about it.

New Media Super Contest Winners

With 88 prizes from over 50 sponsors worth over $4,500, its no wonder it took forever to get all the entries into a list anddraw winners. As a matter of fact, there were over 13,000 entries from all over the world, so I had to write a randomizer script to draw the winners since Random.org only supports lists up to 10,000. In the list that follows, winners are indicated in parenthesis (). Some are indicated by partial email address while others are a twitter username or web address. It all depends on the entry that won. Tomorrow, I will provide all sponsors with the information needed to contact their winners.

How to sponsor

Last week was incredibly busy. So busy, in fact, that I didn’t get to this update on schedule, but that did allow a couple extra days for sponsors to sneak into this update.

New Media Super Contest – Promote Early and Win More!

Yesterday, I announced the New Media Super Contest, where the goal is to get as many sponsors as possible, spread the word using as much new media as possible, and then give away a lot of prizes, including cash, electronics, and a lot more. Yesterday’s announcement began the first phase, sponsor hunting. The sponsorship is off to a great start, with over $1,700 in prizes offered up in the first day. Keep watching the NMSC PRIZE TOTAL badge on the right to see the total go up and up.

While I continue to pursue and accept lots of new contest sponsors and great prizes, you can be earning early entries into the contest, before it even begins.

Just copy the code below and throw it on your blog, livejournal, myspace, forums, etc. You can also write a blog post about the contest, tweet it, or find any other creative way to spread the word. We’ll be giving out bonus prizes randomly to some of the people who help promote this contest before it starts. By the way, your tweet, blog post, etc. will still count as a regular entry, too.

However you do it, just point people to http://www.joetech.com/suggests/nmsc for the latest contest info.

Joe Tech’s New Media Super Contest

It’s time for the biggest contest I’ve ever had on JoeTech.com. Sponsors in the “Joe Tech New Media Super Contest” will enjoy a ton of new RSS and email subscribers, site traffic, product/blog/website buzz and brand name recognition. I will be working very hard to promote the contest and in turn, the sponsors.

Here’s a few sponsorship ideas:
- CASH ($10 or more) – Think BIG
- Text link ad on your blog/site for a month.
- Text link ad on your blog/site for a year.
- Banner/125/button ad on your blog/site for a month.
- Banner/125/button ad on your blog/site for a year.
- A free review on your blog
- A free copy/license of your software
- Gift cards to Best Buy/Amazon/etc.
- Entrecard Credits (1,000 or more) – Think BIG
- Any product you would like to purchase – Think electronics (ipod, macbook, headphones, XBox, etc)
- Anything else of real value you want to offer.

The bigger the prize, the higher you get on the sponsorship list. I will start the contest in a couple weeks or so. More sponsors can join in after that, but it’s best to get in early. A big thanks goes to our first sponsor, AFrogToKiss.net. I’ve just announced this thing, and so far we have $500 in sponsorship already (this number will be updated in the image on the right).

I’m also going to be putting in more cash than I’ve ever given out in a contest before, and I’ll up the ante if I reach some goals by the contest deadline, January 1, 2009, so keep watching.
