Today, on DragonBlogger.com, I came across a contest held by a search site I’ve seen promoting a lot lately. The site is Leapfish and the contest is the Leapfish $100k Cash Dash (before you enter, read below about what I’m giving away). I hadn’t really checked out the site before, and I must admit, the contest got me to look. Here’s what I found:
Search with Leapfish
Searching with Leapfish is pretty cool. It has the most popular from many segments of the web on the homepage, like video, Digg items, deals, and various types of news. When you search, you get results in video, images, news, deals, etc and then you also get standard results from Google, Yahoo, and Bing. It’s like an all-in-one search and I’m really liking it. In fact, I even added it on my sidebar over on the right. Try it out by typing something in the little search box and clicking the button.
Win with Leapfish and JoeTech.com
Leapfish has a pretty cool contest, and I want to win, but I need your help. To enter, you earn points and those points are like raffle tickets. The more you earn, the better your odds, but those who earn fastest get the cool prizes. I get points if I refer some people to Leapfish, so everyone who emails me asking to be invited and then signs upclick here to sign up and you will be entered to win on of the following (your choice):
All you have to do is email for an invitation and then sign up when you get your invitation. You can also get extra entries in my contest by posting a link to this post on Twitter or Facebook. Just comment below with the URL to your tweet or facebook update. Each tweet or update gets you an entry. The contest ends either when I win one of the prizes or on May 15th, whichever comes first, so hurry and participate. Of course, Leapfish has even bigger prizes, but why not win mine as well. Oh… and if I win anything from Leapfish in their contest, my winner gets BOTH prizes above.
UPDATE: It looks like I may have nabbed one of the LeapFish prizes which will mean one of you who helped me will win both items above. Now I’m shooting for TWO prizes from LeapFish and if I get two, I’ll find something else cool to give away to you guys for helping!
Today, I found out about the Its a BluWorld contest being held by the people who make the BluFrog energy drink. Most people know I love contests, but I also don’t like a contest that is too hard to enter and this one is incredibly easy. You can enter with a blog post or a simple tweet or even just comment on their contest page. First, though, I want to mention the prizes, because they are really unique and just plain cool.
The prize I want to win is the Happy Blu-Year trip to spend New Year’s Eve in Times Square. They’ll fly the winner and a friend out, put you me up in a hotel for three nights, cover the ground transportation to and from the airport, and throw in a helicopter ride for two over New York City and an X-Shot. I’ve never watched the ball drop in person from Times Square, so it would be the experience of a lifetime for me. Of course, if I win, the first thing I’ll do is call Michelle and let her know. Then there would be a blog post about it and I’d tweet my excitement to the world, followed by me running around the office telling everyone. I’m excited already, just thinking about it.
My prize choice was a hard one to make, though. They’ve got five cool prize packages. Check out what else you could win:
BluStreak: Win a Richard Petty Racing Experience
* Round Trip Air Fare for 2 from Major Gateway Airport
* Ground Transport to and from the Hotel
* Luxurious hotel for 2 nights
* 2 Tickets for Rookie Driving Experience
* Complimentary X-Shot
* Food and Beverages NOT included
BluGamer: The Ultimate Gaming Package
* Xbox 360 Elite System (includes 1 controller & Xbox LIVE Headset)
* Rock Band 2 Bundle
* Call of Duty: World at War Complete Package
* Xbox Wireless Networking Adapter
* Complimentary X-Shot
* 2 Cases of Blu Frog Energy
Blullapalooza: Win a trip to Lolapalloza in Chicago
* Round Trip Air Fare for 2 from Major Gateway Airport
* Ground Transport to and from the Hotel
* Luxurious hotel for 2 nights
* 2 Tickets to Lollapalooza
* Complimentary X-Shot & iPod loaded with music
* Food and Beverages NOT included
XtremeBLU: Win a trip to the Winter X Games in Aspen
* Round Trip Air Fare for 2 from Major Gateway Airport
* Ground Transport to and from the Hotel
* Luxurious hotel for 3 nights
* 2 Tickets to Winter X Games
* Complimentary X-Shot
* Food and Beverages NOT included
My close second choice would be the Driving experience. I’d love to whip around in a race car at high speeds for a few laps. I know I don’t have to tell you by now, but you should all enter. As easy as they make it, why wouldn’t you. And what if you win? What prize would you want to win? How excited would you be to win that prize? Comment below and let me know.
With 88 prizes from over 50 sponsors worth over $4,500, its no wonder it took forever to get all the entries into a list anddraw winners. As a matter of fact, there were over 13,000 entries from all over the world, so I had to write a randomizer script to draw the winners since Random.org only supports lists up to 10,000. In the list that follows, winners are indicated in parenthesis (). Some are indicated by partial email address while others are a twitter username or web address. It all depends on the entry that won. Tomorrow, I will provide all sponsors with the information needed to contact their winners.
Before I get to the winners, I’d like to thank all the people who entered and all the sponsors below who offered up prizes. You guys are all truly awesome!
Premium Sponsors
While we link out to all sponsors as a way of thanking them for adding to our prize pool, we also wanted to thank the premium sponsors, who went the extra mile to add larger prizes to the contest.
Pinky Arcade [UPDATE: PinkyArcade gave us the run around for months until I finally just bought the PS3 myself for the winner]
The 5 member team at Pinky Arcade contacted us early on to ask if we’d like to have a 160GB Sony PS3 to give away in the contest. If you are a gamer, you would notice that this system isn’t released yet and it’s going to be the latest model for the widely popular, PS3. No strangers to giving away tons of free prizes, Pinky Arcade has already given away huge gift cards, consoles, and mp3 players. All these given away for simply playing some free games on the site.
BadEvan’s Gay Blog
Evan also joined up as a sponsor early on, not only by helping promote via Twitter, and other “new media”, but also by throwing in around $1,500 in advertising, reviews, and cash.
EcoPower and EcoVista
The sales team at EcoPower heard about the contest and sponsored it with some unexpected, but cool, prizes. Their EcoPower and EcoVista products help you save fuel in your automobile and electricity in your home or office. The products are pretty inexpensive, too, so they offered up three of each!

I’m a little late on my weekly updates, but I wanted to get a couple of the new sponsors in and I’m still waiting to hear back from a few more, so you may see another update soon.
While I’ve been busy rounding up new sponsors, December has arrived and it’s now time to promote. Throughout December, I will be seeking any available outlet to let people know about the contest. Now is the time to blog or tweet about it and earn extra entries. Alternatively, you can blog about it and be mentioned as a Media Partner rather than earn entries. Email me for more information.
The New Media Super Contest has over 80 prizes from over 50 sponsors worth over $4,500! Take a look at the prize and sponsor list below.

There are a lot of ways to enter. If you do any of the following, you get entries into the drawing. Even though we have over 70 prizes already, making it easy for everyone to win, your odds of nabbing the Platinum prizes increase with each entry you earn. Most of the ways mentioned below are very easy and take very little time, so try a few or all of them and good luck! Entries must be earned before January 1, 2009 to be eligible.
- Tweet the contest at Twitter.com (must include “#joetech”) (5 entries/once per day)
- Tweet “@joetech I hope I win” at Twitter.com (5 entries/once per day)
- Follow joetech on Twitter.com (10 entries) (all current followers already entered)

Badges, Buttons, Banners, and HTML
This contest is about spreading the word about new media and by new media. That said, it’s important for you to have the tools to help you promote it. It’ll earn you more entries, too. Below are some blocks of HTML to make it very easy for you to post about the contest or add a badge or button to your site or blog. Please note that it is important for the images to come from JoeTech.com (as they do in the codes below) so they will automatically update with new prize total information.
How to sponsor
Although the contest is already under way, we’ll accept sponsors and prizes until the very end. Currently we’re looking for more cash and electronics like laptops, iPods, etc., but feel free to be creative. Remember to think big. The better your prize, the more attention you’ll get in the contest. Premium sponsors will receive special mentions in contest posts, in addition to all the name recognition and traffic the contest will bring naturally.
To sponsor, just email joe@joetech.com with the subject “NEW MEDIA SUPER CONTEST”. Each prize should be worth at least $10 U.S. Include the details about the prize or prizes you are offering, the U.S. dollar value of each prize, your site or company name and the URL to link to. All sponsors will be added to the list as seen above and updates will be posted on every Thursday.
Last week was incredibly busy. So busy, in fact, that I didn’t get to this update on schedule, but that did allow a couple extra days for sponsors to sneak into this update.
The contest launched just over a week ago, and we’re still getting sponsorship requests, which is great. November is all about growing our prize pool, so I’m still working with potential sponsors for even bigger prizes. If you want to sponsor, it’s never too late.
This week, I would like to also point out that Bl.ogology.com has thrown a Palm Treo 650 (slightly used – Sprint only) into the prize pool. Thanks, Bl.ogology.com, for adding to the excitement!
The New Media Super Contest has 81 prizes from over 50 sponsors worth over $4,200! Take a look at the prize and sponsor list below.
