I know I’m slow, but… Pro Blogger Darren Rowse posted a video of his home office and then asked people to post their own, just as he did the first time. John Cow, Neil Duckett, and Edward Khoo, among many others, posted their work areas, so I thought I’d do the same.
My office from 9 to 5.

My office at home. I tried to work at a desk, but I found myself ignoring it more and more for my laptop on the couch.

My robots at the 9-5. There’s one more ripped 1/2 apart. I’ll post pics of that later.

As Darren did, I also invite you to post your own pictures or videos to Flickr, YouTube, your blog, etc., and post the links here.

My work area is a total pig sty. Oh the shame! Oh the horror! I wouldn’t want to wish that on you. Your desk looks nice though. :) I’m almost inspired to clean up around my desk…

RollerKaty: I cleaned up my desk before this photo. I’m normally all cluttered up. On the floor is about 200 promo CDs in haphazard stacks.

Your desk looks great, but I know why you prefer the couch. It looks super comfy :)
I want your couch

Shanti: Thanks. We just bought the couch from one of my employees on the 1st and I love it. It’s micro-suede, so it’s very comfy. Now I just need to get a wireless keyboard and mouse so I can blog on my tv

I spend most of my time working in my office – which is really nothing more than a desk with a computer on it. However – a laptop on the couch is also a very comfortable way to work.
Since it is winter now – the warmest room in my apartment is the office – and it has no heat… Not sure why – but thats how it worked out.

I lost the desk at home also. Bought a big one too. It is now my wifes. I didn’t like it after a while. With the laptop, I work just about anywhere, usually on the couch.

Matt: I used to live with two other guys in about a 1600 square foot house and we had 9 computers on constantly between us. It was so hot in that house (and it’s Phoenix) that we had to run the A/C a little and wound up with a $350 electric bill the first month.
Anyway, I much prefer my desk at the office when it comes to things like taking notes, being on the phone, etc., but for most everything else, I’d rather be at home on the couch.

Stephan: Good call. I used to have a 6×3.5 foot oak desk, but I ditched that after having to move it twice. It weighed a ton. Then I had a glass desk like the one in my office, but after not using it at all for months, I took it apart. That’s the great thing about the laptop, too. I can work anywhere, and if I need to run out the door for vacation, I can take it with me in case I feel inspired. I once wrote the better part of a search engine on a flight to Detroit.
I think I’ll purchase another desktop one day when my life is much less cluttered and I have more time for gaming and don’t have to multi-task as much, but for now, my laptop is the only computer I need at home.

Daily Impressions: Thanks so much for the link. I appreciate every single link I get. As for the wireless, I can’t live without it. My neighbor was going to run cables all over the house and then came to his senses. One day, we’ll be able to eliminate all cables and live clutter-free.

Rob: It is airy. I still need to get Photoshop on my laptop, though. Thanks for reminding me.

Ever since I got my laptop, I have ignored my desk completely! The couch looks more comfy with the laptop.

Jackie: I couldn’t agree more. My wife and I are both on the couch with our laptops right now
