One of the big pains about having multiple computers or having just one but leaving it at home is the lack of access we have to our files. Many companies have entered into this market space with products like PCAnywhere and the like, but what about when you know have web access on a vanilla machine and can’t upload anything else? That’s where the WebOS idea comes into play.

Essentially, you log into a virtual operating system that is all on the web. Scary? I think so too, but it’s also pretty cool. Jooce is one of the players gaining speed in this arena and they’re looking pretty good so far. It’s all flash based, and as a developer, I know how that can help maintain the integrity of the aesthetics regardless of operating system, screen size, or browser.
