I MUST have one. OK… Sure… Apple just took their iPhone, slimmed it down, and took out the phone. Seriously, I think it’s yet another brilliant move by Apple. This is a huge step forward for the already-near-perfect ipod.

The new iPod Touch is out, complete with touchscreen, Coverflow and all the eye candy you can imagine, including a customizable dock. The big surprise: it has Wi-Fi, with Safari, YouTube and the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Storebuilt-in. Unfortunately, it’s not hard-drive based, just flash. The 8-mm-thick hardware design is still amazing —it’s not like our mock-up, but we want to hold it, touch it and lick it just the same. Even more now that it is real.

Wi-Fi?! I’m sold. Wi-Fi was the only reason I almost kept my Sony PSP (no time for games). Where’s the nearest Apple Store, then?
