At my house, our lockers are the information hub! We have high-school style lockers bought at a surplus sale that fit right in with the funky décor. Dance performance flyers, preschool teacher's notes, and vacation details are centralized for easy entry into our color-coded master calendar, and continued reference!

One more tip: Shop online. I like to keep gifts for family and friends in the saved section of my shopping cart at Amazon.com. Then when it's time to buy, one click takes care of everything. Happy Holidays!

Back to the basics, everything goes on a calendar in the kitchen and everybody checks what is happening for every day. At least it works most of the time and when it doesn't we have learned to punt at the last minute and it turns out well

Hi Joe! Great contest!

One of my tips for organizing (and a fun one too) is to have the kids make a Christmas list with all their requests and decorate it. We keep these on the fridge and have made copies for grandparents. It makes it easy for everyone to know what to buy. I make sure that the kids keep requests simple and inexpensive. I think this helps avoid holiday anxiety over trying to find the "perfect" present.

organization? schedule? whats that? with a crazy 3 year old that wont take a nap other than in the car and a 1 year old whos naps like to change randomly from 15mins-2hrs trying to plan anything is just plain hard. planning stuff with friends is pretty hard to since they always show up an hour or more late. we dont go out of town for the holidays my family is here husbands family is out of state but we are not driving in snow hell to go see them hehe. we usually do a family xmas dinner at our house no real planning just tell them a time and they show up. i have learned to not plan anything since having kids because if you plan something they tend to throw your plan out the window hehe.

With family in 2 states, organizing our holidays tends to be interesting. The things that I found the best for us was to use a calender. I keep track of my daughter's school schedule and the other holiday parties on there. I also start planning early by calling in October to my inlaws, so we can plan on when and where we will be spending Christmas with all of them.

I use a 3 way system that creates a no-fail system. All info is kept on a main calendar that the family sees and checks. My Yahoo calendar is set to email me reminders of things I need to do, right down to paying bills and buying a gift on sale. A permanent To Do List is posted on our fridge. That includes appointments and what is needed at the store when we run out, when a school project is due, when we want to have a meal out, etc.

It would be nice to have everything in one place and Qwest seems like the answer for my busy family. And the photo storage would really make my life easier too.

I keep everything on a calendar on my computer, everyone checks it and it's set to send out reminders. The best thing we have done is we learned to decline invitations graciously. It's no fun being run ragged during the holidays.
