Digg Typo Brings Surprise Traffic

Posted in Communication,Computers by Joe Tech on the August 22nd, 2007

Last Friday, Digg user loconet posted Why Firefox is Blocked, linking to whyfirefoxisblocked.com and it was dugg up to 5,419 diggs. Monday, someone named jtwyrrpirate posted whyisfirefoxblocked.com hacked = awesome and THAT story got 5,741 diggs. What’s the problem? The URL is wrong. Instead of posting a hack, jtwyrrpirate posted about what he thought was a hack but was really just a typo site put up after all the publicity the original site gained.
