Treo 700p release date leaked?

This scan was dubiously released to TreoCentral forums this afternoon without a lot of verification, but it would seem to purport a May 28th launch target for Sprint’s Palm Treo 700p. The 28th happens to be a Sunday, which seems odd timing for a launch, but it could just be a general target, and it lines up with the mid-year rumorings we’ve heard recently. The scanned product sheet also mentions EV-DO, a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, 128MB of memory, and DUN modem capability, none of which contradicts previously leaked specs. So while the mid-year timing might be a blow to those of us barely scraping by on a 650, the feature set is looking good for those with patience. That is, of course, if any of this checks out at all.

Papipo cell phone for kids

I walk around these days and see kids youger and younger talking on cell phones. When I was growing up, anyone under the age of 25 with a pager was assumed to be a drug dealer. Cell phones were even more scarce. I love to see advances in technology, but I wonder where this can go.

Bandai and Willcom present this Papipo, a PHS phone that uses the WSIM from Willcom. It has a 128×128 screen, a 0.3MP camera, it measures 52×29.9x101mm and weighs 100g. It will come with an anti-spam filter and a system that blocks certain people from communicating with your child.

If you read a post about how to build a computer and then you proceed to burn your house down trying it on your own, that’s all on you.

Hardware:
I write PHP code for a living. I do not fix laptops, cameras, televisions, robots, cars, bad hearts, bum legs, broken relationships, or elections for a living. If I write a post that mentions or walks you through any of these things and claim to have had success in my own efforts, you should assume that it is my dumb luck. In other words, if you try opening your digital camera, laptop, TV, robot, etc. while following instructions I have posted and you break whatever you are messing with, that sucks, but don’t expect me to send you a check.

Code/Software:
Just because I write code for a living, you should not assume that my code is always perfect. Any time you give a computer instructions on what to do, you run a risk of it not working or messing something else up. If something happens as a result of code I provide here or instructions I give, you should be proactive in trying to fix it and not blame it on me. I’ll help if I can, but that’s all I can do.
