I was surprised by the response to my anti-contest. More than anything I just wanted it to be fun and entertaining for the participants and for bystanders as well. I will probably do other contests like it in the future with a couple changes:

1) Use a prize everyone is at least somewhat interested in. With this one I used EC credits, which only EC users are (moderately) interested in. That’s okay because I was trying to back out of EC at the time anyways and that was the perfect thing to do with my credits.

2) Maybe have a permanent page on my blog for “Hall of Fame” drawings. Kind of a little consolation prize for whoever doesn’t end up winning whatever crappy porcelain figurine I pick up at the thrift store.

Thanks for mentioning my anti-contest. I honestly had no idea people would like it or not… Now I just hope that this format of contest isn’t beaten to death by the time I do my next one. :) Thanks again.

Ya, I don’t do the “Post about this on your blog” contests, as almost 100% wouldn’t fit into my blog. Also I don’t do the huge meme link exchange posts, even though it would increase my rankings, my readers seriously don’t need to see that.

Thanks for the article. I loved Andy's contest, and didn't even realize there was a prize at the end.. I couldn't figure out where I got 1000 credits..and started tracking it back! It was just fun to be included! I held a contest for a blog review, a original commemoritive sketch, and just a comment about the contest, got 1 entry.. so one winner! I suppose.
