Apple Warns of Counterfeit iPods

Apple Computer sent out a bulletin last month to all its service partners, notifying them of counterfeit iPods that are being sold as authentic. These illegally manufactured players — most notably the iPod Nano/Shuffle — lack a dock connector, ship without the standard USB cable, have missing buttons and “Digital Music Player” printed atop the packaging.
