<description>Rebecca, as pcsourcepoint stated you can use boot vis which help to optimize the boot up time...or you can simply download mz ultimate tweaks to tweak your start up programs or tweak the services that loaded during start up (please proceed with extreme caution when disabling any services)...another thing you can do is type msconfig in the run box and you will find the System Configuration Utility window pop up...change the timeout ini the boot.ini to 3 (min time)..hope this help...

<description>Thanks for this post, as I find it takes a bit long to connect to the internet. Perhaps this program, and your instructions will help to easily diagnose the exact cause. I think boot vis (which I think helps to optimize boot up time) might compliment boot timer...

<description>Great! So now we can time the boot up but how do we speed up a slow boot up time? I know some of my clients have computers that take ages to boot up. Time enough to go away and make a cup of coffee before anything is available. How can we make these computers more efficient? What sort of things affect the time it takes to boot up and the time it takes to open new software?
